A couple from Australian went to adopt a sweet kitten they had seen online, but after seeing the bond he shared with his brother, there was no way the two could be separated.
The couple, Grace Serena and her boyfriend Jake, had gone to the adoption center located in Menai, Australia to find a furry friend to give a loving home to.
"We researched on the RSPCA (NSW) website and Marlow's beautiful little face popped up and we found that he was located not even 10 minutes away from us," Grace said in an interview.
So they went to see to visit Marlow expecting one kitten to steal their hearts, but when they got to his cage there was so much more than that.
"We walked inside and they were laying in their cage with their paws wrapped around one another. They immediately hopped up and prodded their paws through the caging to reach out to us. They were not only affectionate but incredibly eager to get out of their small confines."
The two brothers have always been by each others side, where one goes the other will follow right behind and they feel most comfortable when they're together.
So since being found by a good Samaritan, the two have lived happily together, waiting to be adopted. Grace and Jake decided they would spend time cuddling the both of them so they didn't have to be apart.
"I had Marlow in my arms and Jake had Mittens in his, and although they were showing us extreme amounts of affection they were still looking at one another and attempting to make their way back to each other," Grace said
Grace sat on the floor with both kittens curled up happily in her arms. As soon as they were together again both Marlow and Mittens started purring in unison and became more comfortable and relaxed.
"Jake was absolutely insistent that they were not to be separated. After much deliberation, we decided it was either no cats or both cats, and... no cats is never a good idea."
And so the boys finally found themselves a forever home! They went home together and once they finished exploring their new surroundings settled right in.
"They have claimed the office chair, the fluffiest pillows, and the laundry mat as their sleeping pads," Grace said.
"Both kittens are extremely affectionate, adore cuddles and want nothing more than to spend time with 'their humans.' They prefer the company of each other over toys.
They hype each other up and wrestle and then fall asleep with their paws wrapped around one another." And of course, it's completely adorable to witness. "They have a bond that I have never witnessed between another two animals."
"The pair loves to sit at the window and watch the cars driving down the street. They love to sit at the highest spots they can reach and observe everything going on below them," Grace continued; "If one goes to get a drink of water, the other follows."
They really are the best for friends, closer than any brothers you could imagine to be!
"I couldn't be happier with our decision to adopt them both... They have brought us so much joy, laughter, and happiness."
It's obvious that these kittens couldn't be happier either. Thanks to their amazing bond a possible family of three became a family of four, and that means there's twice as much feline love to give.
Remember to share this adorable story with your friends, and maybe you'll find a a kitty to love like these two next time you visit your local shelter.
