Cats come in all shapes and sizes. Some are big, some are small, some have long tails and some don't have any tails! Regardless of a cat's physical appearance; it is abundantly clear to all cat fans that all cats are worthy of love.
Unfortunately cats who look a little different may be less likely to be adopted and given the love they deserve. Cats who have more than the usual amount of toe beans may be considered even better than cats with the regular amount--the more cute little feet pads, the better! But, this cat has more than the usual amount of something else.
Yes, Frankie is short for Frankenkitten.
He was born to a stray cat and found under a house with another sibling. The homeowners took the pair in for a few weeks to socialise them before taking them to a shelter to be rehomed.
When Frankie was taken to the shelter, he still had both his eyes. Unfortunately, one ruptured and needed to be removed.
He also has a large overbite and joint problems in his back legs.
In a conversation with Bored Panda, Georgi Anderson said:
“I went and saw him prior to his procedure and right away was struck by how sweet-natured he was. After a few hours of having him home in recovery, I knew he was special in a way I couldn’t quite describe.”
His smaller, front ears mildly affect his hearing as they vaguely act as earmuffs to his bigger ears.
Frankie's joint problems cause him to walk "splay-legged" but don't impact on his ability to play. Nor do they cause him any pain.
He copes well with only having one eye; although his night vision isn't as good as other cats'.
Frankie's overbite causes him to struggle to eat wet food, but is becoming adept at using his tongue to get dry food into his mouth.
“His personality is very cheeky, but he gets away with it because he is also very sweet. He is not overly intelligent which has been a noticed trait in some other cats with 4 ears. I doubt he would fare well outside. He would see a car and think it was something to play with. But he is so loving and affectionate and seems to sense when I have had a difficult day. I almost would say he has a doglike personality.”
And get into other sorts of mischief!
